โ€œItโ€™s a song that gives you wings to fly.โ€

Those were Lady Gagaโ€™s words about the now iconic song she and Bradley Cooper sang in that parking lot scene for the movie A Star Is Born. It was a late night courtship scene between an alcoholic musician and a frustrated young woman who aspires to be a singer.

The song took to the airwaves before rocking the charts and soon, everybody was streaming the song, and even performing their own cover versions of the powerful duet.

โ€œShallowโ€ was born.

Jordan Rabjohn records himself singing before uploading them on YouTube and other platforms. Heโ€™s a singer-songwriter from Sheffield but perhaps what makes him different is that he sings with his mother.

Jordan proudly says,

We may have to agree.

Lady Gaga knew โ€œShallowโ€ was pretty special. But she had no idea it would explode in popularity the way it did.

The song won a Golden Globe for Best Original Song, two Grammys (Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Song Written for Visual Media), and an Oscar for Best Original Song. Plus winning the hearts of millions.

But โ€œShallowโ€ requires powerful vocals. Deep emotions and a raw tone brings out the life in each word. Bradley Cooper does a great job with the intro, his character unloading his feelings in the first few lines.

Rabjohn does the same, singing the first part with a touch more pop than country rock, fusing his style with that of the original version. This Sheffield singer is pretty good!

Raspy just goes well with this song.

Then comes Katherine singing Gagaโ€™s part. Sheโ€™s got a totally different sound to Gagaโ€™s. Almost like you can sense that thereโ€™s something more powerful behind that subdued manner of hers.

The blending is incredible!

Katherine finally unleashes her astounding range. The control, the tone, and just the way she carries the song without drowning out her son is just impressive. Sheโ€™s a pro!

But itโ€™s Katherine that really takes the spotlight for this one. The original had Gaga (Ali) singing her out, releasing her talent in a stunning display for Cooper (Jackson), who sings almost as a back up for the songโ€™s climax.

Jordan wonโ€™t be outdone by his mother, showing viewers his impeccable timing and range as Katherine carries the power ballad to its highest notes. Are you impressed yet?

Zephyr Sky, a viewer, had this to say.

โ€œJordan your rasp gives me just as many chills as your mumโ€™s power and vibrato does! I love your duets! I cannot get enough and the world needs these. You two amaze me! Thank you!โ€

We all felt the chill. Letโ€™s hope we see and hear more from Jordan and Katherine.
