If you’ve ever been to New York City and taken in a Broadway show, you know firsthand just how exhilarating it is. From Cats to Chicago to The Phantom of the Opera, you leave feeling you got every dime’s worth. When it comes to stage performances, there’s a distinct difference between those done in a Broadway-style.
But the good news — you don’t have to travel to the East Coast to see a Broadway-style show. Today, this genre of dance has become so popular that it’s common for schools, community theaters, and professional stages to host them. Even better, you can log onto the internet and find all kinds of incredible routines.
Dancers in purple hats
One online video has made such an impression on viewers that it’s now been seen thousands upon thousands of times. One group of dancers in purple hats puts on a phenomenal show to “Beggin.” This performance is full of energy and it’s a ton of fun to watch.

A soulful song with a long history
This particular song was first released back in 1967. Composed by Peggy Farina and Bob Gaudio, it became famous after The Four Turkish group. But it wasn’t until Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons recorded it that people noticed.

The Rock Center
At this venue, nine performers take center stage. They’re all decked out in purple suits and hats. In front of them are nine chairs. Within seconds of the melodramatic music starting, one performer walks to the front while the others seated on the stools, slowly turn around. Then the beat picks up.

Those moves
That’s when the dancers go down into a half-squat, all perfectly synchronized. They do front kicks, back kicks, and a big hop right down into their next position low to the floor. The next thing you know, they’re all lying flat on their backs with the soulful music blaring in the background.

They even use the prop chairs as part of their performance
After a few more cool moves, they turn around, pull out the chairs, and lean on them with their chins in their hands. Quickly, they change from a kneeling position, swinging their bodies around so they’re behind the chairs. The coordination in this piece is amazing. Whoever choreographed this piece deserves major kudos.

The entire performance is fantastic
Usually, when you see a Broadway-style show of this caliber, the crowd goes wild. But in this case, everyone was so mesmerized, the theater was quiet except for the music. They even flip their bodies around using the chairs while keeping their toes straight. I can only imagine the amount of skill and muscle it takes to do something like that.

Great job
These dancers do it all. At one point, several of them do half-splits, another impressive move. For almost three and a half minutes, they give 100 percent. Not only did they choose a perfect song and colorful outfits to go along with it, but their skill level is obvious. This is one of those videos you could watch over and over again.

Even the background lighting changes from a purplish-blue to neon green. The entire show is unbelievably good. You can see it for yourself by watching the video below. It won’t disappoint.
