As the old saying goes, โWhen in Rome, do as the Romans do.โ
After listening to the immensely talented Italian busker, weโve found a much better way to put the famous proverb. It should go something like this: โWhen in Rome, listen to Serin because everyone does.โ

So, who is Serin?

Serin Halim is an Italian busker who regularly performs in front of the Pantheon in Rome.
The man is already famous among locals and tourists alike because his phenomenal covers of Pink Floyd songs stay engraved in your memory. Weโve all heard of Pink Floyd, but for those who havenโt, they are an English progressive rock band. Halim performs their song โTimeโ in the video, the fourth track on their 1973 album Dark Side of the Moon.

Since Pink Floyd is considered to be one of the most influential bands in music history, itโs quite hard to do a decent cover of any of their songs.
The band used to create very vivid live shows, and itโs hard to reproduce the energy the group knew how to deliver. However, Halim attracts people with his amazing voice and excellent guitar playing.
All he has is an old Stratocaster and his own skillful fingers.

Halim always carries an amplifier and his black guitar.
Itโs a black Stratocaster, similar to one David Gilmour had. Thereโs an excited crowd around him, and we can see on peopleโs faces that they recognize the Pink Floyd vibe in his performance. The audience doesnโt even blinkโthatโs how much everyone seems to enjoy his voice. Thereโs one moment when a cop starts talking to him and Halim doesnโt miss a chord at all. He just remains cool and keeps going.
Thatโs how you know the man loves music and is a master of his craft.

Anyone would absolutely hate to be interrupted in the middle of a solo like that, but Halim shakes it off like a professional.
It would be fantastic if a talented man like him got signed! He would have an opportunity to perform for a large audience without being interrupted. As this clip shows, the real talent is on the streets sometimes.
Itโs interesting to hear โTimeโ being performed in front of Pantheon.

Itโs definitely interesting to hear a modern piece about the unavoidable nature of time being played in front of an ancient building.
It makes you think about the past and future at the same time, because all our buildings will be the new ruins thousands of years from now. This is how we know that music inspires and touches us. Itโs a magical moment when the audio and visual collide, and we get to see a different perspective. Music truly makes the world go โround, and when a man plays it as well as Halim does, then he deserves the biggest round of applause and some of your money.
The video is almost five years old.

This magical performance was captured on camera in 2015, and since then, six million YouTube viewers have already had the opportunity to enjoy it.
Youโll be glad to know that you can also hear it live because Halim still performs in Italy. We just hope that the complicated situation regarding coronavirus will not affect his earnings a lot! From what weโve heard, that spot in front of Pantheon wouldnโt be the same without him.
