Everyone loves the beat of a drum. Whether as part of a rock and roll band or a marching team, there’s just something about the sound and rhythm that gets the body and mind going. Now that much of the world is living in isolation due to COVID-19, there’s no opportunity to go anywhere to enjoy drum music.
Fortunately for all of us, a group of 150 drummers marched around the streets before the pandemic, putting on a phenomenal show. That means even while stuck at home, we can watch the event as it unfolded. This is a great way to enjoy drumming without going anywhere.
It’s a fantastic video
Once a video of the drummers was uploaded, it didn’t take any time for it to go viral. Since the gathering in 2017, it’s now been viewed by more than one million people from across the globe. At the start, you see a bunch of drummers dressed in almost black gothic attire. They’re laughing and smiling, eager to get started.
The crowd becomes excited
Lining the street are hundreds upon hundreds of people, cheering the drummers on. They’re already excited but as soon as the action begins, they go wild. After all, how many times does anyone see 150 drummers in one place? Probably never.
The fun begins
The first thing you hear is snare drums. With a simple yet distinct beat, they start the show.
What makes this video even better is that the participants pull off some pretty cool dance moves. Staying in perfect timing to the drums, they move their bodies back and forth while doing unique movements with their arms.
Oh, my gosh, this is amazing
These aren’t like the drummers you see in a marching band on a football field. They’re really into it. Along with moving their bodies to the beat, they make dramatic facial expressions. It’s as though they feel every tap of the drum sticks. The people on the sidelines can’t get in close enough.
Now they’re all drumming
Men and women alike are beating the drums with everything they have. As you watch the video, you’ll see several unique instruments. We’re not sure what they are but they add to the overall tone. Seeing so many drummers is beyond amazing.
They’re incredibly talented
You can tell these drummers know what they’re doing. These aren’t just novice players but people who’ve obviously been working at their craft for many years. Their talent is easy to see and hear. At no time do you hear a drumming sound out of sync.
This is what you call a street party
Although this video was shot before the pandemic, it comes at a perfect time. If you’re bored or simply need something to brighten your day, this will do the trick. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy watching 150 people dedicated to drumming.
